The keynote
speaker will be David
Meier, co-author of
"The
Toyota Way Fieldbook". In his foreword to that
book John
Shook,
last year's keynote speaker, praises David's abilities developed by
living the Toyota Way on the plant floor for several years at
Toyota's facility at Georgetown, Kentucky. Since leaving
Toyota David has assisted many organisations in their Lean
transformation efforts. He will be discussing his roadmap for lean
transformation and sharing ideas about developing people to
accelerate those transformations. David spoke to 1,000 people at
the Lean Enterprise Summit in Brazil earlier this year, and will be
speaking to the Lean Enterprise Denmark Summit early next
year.
Barry
Budge,who
has held Senior Management positions with Toyota
Motor Corporation Australia for 24 years and
has key responsibility for Supplier Development, will describe the
work Toyota has been doing in developing some of its key suppliers,
and will also touch on the steps that Toyota itself is taking to
overcome the effects of the Global Financial Crisis.
Professor
David Ben-Tovim of Flinders
Medical Centre will look back over
the five years the hospital has been travelling the Lean journey,
and describe the successes and challenges that have been
experienced in transforming a large complex
organisation.
Gary
Stewart, General
Manager, Aisin, who spoke
at the North American AME conference earlier this year, will
describe how his thinking about Lean Leadership has developed
significantly during the last twelve months, based on his
conversations with Jim Womack
and John Shook.
The
National
Australia Bank team will decribe their
leap forward in Lean Transformation.
A speaker
from Cobham
Aviation Services Australia, the nation's third
largest aviation operator, will describe how the first year of Lean
has gone, and the plans for the future.
A speaker
from Bonds
(who are
closing garment manufacturing in Australia) will reflect on what
went wrong despite impressive lean results.
There will
be a choice of breakout workshops covering Toyota's
approach to developing all employees, Value Stream Mapping in
Manufacturing or Office and Services, Lean Distribution, and Lean
and the Environment,
